Zwei Stunden Fussmarsch von Novo mesto enfernt (9km) erreicht man das Tal mit dem grossen Dorf und der grossen Kirche. Das ist » Velike Brusnice« mit den wunderschönen Gorjanci im Hintergrund. Hier befindet sich die neue Schule und nahe der Kirche ist die alte Schule, die Post und die Pfarrei.

Dve uri hoda (9 km) od Novega mesta, pa prideš po lepi državni cesti, ki vodi v Kostanjevico, Brežice in dalje v Zagreb, do vasi Ratež, od koder zagledaš na svoji desni, v dolinici prijetni veliko vas z veliko cerkvijo. To so Velike Brusnice, sedež KLO Brusnice. Krasno ozadje tvorijo Gorjanci. Tu je "nova šola" in poleg cerkve stara šola, poštni urad in sedež župnije.
